FAQ NGS (only for eZono® 4000 & eZono® 5000)
Needle tip position and orientation are tracked in real- time by sensors in the ultrasound probe and then presented so that you can see where the needle tip and shaft are relative to the ultrasound image.
Ultrasound guided needling procedures use the ultrasound image to visualize the target anatomy and the needle. There is no information about the needle other than its presence in the ultrasound image when aligned by the user with the ultrasound imaging plane.
The addition of eZGuide® provides you with extra information, namely a presentation of the needle tip position and orientation outside and inside of the ultrasound image plane. With this extra information, you can plan punctures better and align the needle with the image more easily, improving safety of the procedure.
The L3-12NGS probe is required to use the eZono® 4000 needle guidance system.
The X6-16LNGS probe is required to use the eZono® 5000 needle guidance system.
The box indicates the estimated position at which position the needle tip will cross the ultrasound image in Out-Of-Plane procedures.
Depending on the medical application, you can use different needles. eZono`s Needle Guidance System is able to support different needle types.
Depending on the needle to be magnetized, you can either use our eZMag magnetiser for short needles or eZMagL magnetiser for long needles in combination with the sterile CapCover.
For more information, please contact us.
If the signal strength indicator bar is low (has not a full green bar or is flickering (does not remain steady)) then magnetic stray fields are present. Please identify the source of interference (metallic /magnetic objects) or change location.
