In order to achieve this we have implemented a virtual supply-chain where eZono has outsourced all production and logistics activities to the leading experts in their respective field.  eZono focuses on ensuring quality objectives and coordinating the partners on its Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One platform.

Made in Germany

eZono is the only ultrasound company developing and producing sonography products in Germany. Although providing affordable systems and producing in Germany sounds like an oxymoron, it is not. This results from our unique supply-chain set-up. All our systems are produced in the German precision triangle between Erfurt, Jena and Saalfeld. The region is well-know for precision engineering and has a very rich history of high-tech production. Most famous is of course Carl Zeiss which has its operations base in Jena. The Zeiss spirit of quality and precision is baked into the region’s DNA, which we leverage to deliver our products.

One of the offspring of Carl Zeiss is EPSa, Elektronik & Praezisionsbau Saalfeld GmbH. EPSa is our general assembler where eZono’s systems are manufactured. Historically, most electronic boards of Carl Zeiss were assembled in the Saalfeld plants. Now EPSa uses brand-new manufacturing and testing technology for our board and system assembly. Our partner is medically certified according to ISO 13485. This allows seamless quality insurance.

From Erfurt-Vieselbach into the world

In order to distribute globally, we use the services of Kuehne+Nagel (AG & Co.) KG. K+N is one of the largest logistics providers in the world with more than 40000 employees in 750 branches across the globe. eZono’s products are stored in K+N’s Erfurt-Vieselbach warehouse, which serves as our central shipment hub for the EMEA region. The warehouse has a capacity of more than 2000 sqm. K+N not only stores our inventory but also processes our orders in order to achieve same day book and ship. This allows fast reaction times and further increases product availability.

Total supply-chain visibility via Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One

Having a virtual supply-chain allows us to react fast on demand and reduces fixed cost, but increases the requirements on information flow within the partner network. As a result, we invested early into a scalable ERP solution and choose Oracle’s JD Edwards Enterprise One platform. All of eZono’s supply-chain, finance and CRM activities are processed on Oracle, which results in seamless data transfers and the ability to access data in real-time. Quite unique, we created a direct web-access to our ERP for our partners. For instance K+N books all inventory transactions directly in the Oracle system without having any interface issues. This reduces data errors and increases the availability of information. The solution allows us to scale operations with demand easily as well and is another core reason behind our cost effectiveness.
